Hip-hop has lost another legend. Phife Dawg, a founding member of the rap group A Tribe Called Quest, passed away on Tuesday, according to various reports in the hip-hop community. Though the group has not released an official statement, numerous rappers and artists have tweeted about the loss, and #RIPPhife quickly became a trending topic on Twitter.
Phife, whose real name is Malik Taylor, suffered a series of medical complications in recent years, undergoing a kidney transplant in 2008 and has been vocal in the past about his struggle with diabetes.

The UH Manoa’s basket ball team has been on a roll winning many tough games prior to the final four tournament. With victories in the last three games over CSU Fullerton, UC Santa Barbara, and Long Beach State, all within 10 points the journey to making the tournament has not been easy. UH has been playing great, showing teamwork and representing Hawai’i, making everyone back home very proud.
Today in the first round UH came out with the victory over Cal with the score 77-66. Here in the islands the UH basket ball seems to be all there is to talk about, we are rooting them on in their round two game against Maryland and hope they do great advancing to round three. Being a student at UH Manoa I am super happy for the team and proud to be a warrior. I know the team is going to do there best and give it all they got in these next few match ups, while spreading the Aloha spirit we have here in Hawai’i
